We call data storytelling the process of interpreting the data produced by the business to come up with a narrative that explains what happened when, where, why, how, and what could be done next to address shortcomings or to improve outcomes.
We create formal definitions of business processes, break them down into steps, and create performance metrics for each step to measure input and output volumes, velocity, total costs, and related efficiency and efficacy measures such as unit costs and conversion rates.
Subsequently we adopt descriptive analytic activities such trend analysis, comparisons, and deep dives as well as predictive analytic activities such as regressions to describe results and provide recommendations.
Through visualizations of performance data we produce a narrative that explains current circumstances and drives changes.
